Edward Wray, co-founder of Betfair – Betting your way to a billion pound business in less than 10 years!
Edward co-founded Betfair in August 1999. After failing to convince the VC community of the value of their idea, Edward and partner Andrew Black successfully used the friends and family route to raise the capital they needed to start trading. Seven years later, the company was valued at £1.5 billion when Softbank bought a stake in the company.
