Janette Faherty is one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs, having built Avanta Enterprise Ltd from scratch to become one of the UK’s leading nationwide employment, skills and enterprise companies.

Janette will elaborate how a young Northern office administrator was motivated to become an entrepreneur, building Avanta into a major national operation with almost 1,000 employees that offers a complete training, recruitment, mentoring and business support service to develop employment and skills in the UK. 

Clearly an inspirational leader, she has created a working environment that enables people to develop - at any one time, Avanta is working with over 20,000 individuals to develop their skills, gain employment or start their own businesses.  Her success has led to numerous awards, including Entrepreneur of the Year 2005 at the London Business Awards and 'Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World' in 2004 in Sydney.
